Gemskii trained as a dancer and enjoyed a 10-year professional career dancing alongside artists including Jason Orange, Bizarre Inc, Kylie Minogue, and Marc Almond. After being arrested for possession in 2000, Gemskii was put on probation and discovered Clean Break Theatre Company. She undertook their Access to Theatre in the Community course and completed it achieving full marks. She is a graduate of East 15's Contemporary Theatre Practice BA, (Distinction) and is the first winner of East 15’s Baraldi Award for excellence.

Gemskii dusts off her many skeletons with humour and warmth. Transforming her own self-harming and the prejudice of others into hope and healing. She not only survived but has risen above sexual abuse, drugs, criminality, homelessness, rape, self-harm, violence, tragic death and heartbreak. TRANSFORMATION provokes standing ovations whenever it is performed with its rawness, honesty and acrobatic physicality.
