Imagine being lost in a foreign country, bright light and fog distorting your view - whatever possessed you to come here?
A multi-sensory, intimate and immersive theatre experience that allows an audience of 20 to don white forensic suits to explore memory and mystery in the white world of Reykjavik.
"An amazing theatrical experience... a unique encounter... this was a moving, thought provoking experience" British Theatre Guide
Created collaboratively with an award-winning team of directors/designers and neuroscientist Hugo Spiers, Shams take us on a guided journey through the realms of recollection. Part travelogue, part forensic reconstruction, Reykjavík is an exploration through a city of extremes - mysterious, funny, beautiful and ultimately touching - in search of a half-forgotten love affair. This involving installation and playful promenade performance asks: how far can we trust our own memory?
Shams create playful, moving and imaginative performances - from visually stunning theatre to site-specific, experimental and immersive experiences for audiences.
"Constantly inventive" Total Theatre
"Affecting work that is both playful and poetic" The Times
