Those who want answers most will always find them in the end. The award winning Nottingham New Theatre presents Esther, a young ME sufferer plagued with the conviction that her condition is her own fault. Trapped in a useless body, her thoughts wander... thus emerges the gentle tale of Rye, a fairy born with one wing, who plays out Esther’s secret fears safe inside her own imagination. Her mother can’t reach her, her friends can’t visit her – perhaps it is only Rye who can save her from herself. But how can you fly with only one wing?
Only One Wing is an innovative piece of new writing from one of the country’s leading student theatre companies. The piece is abstract, physical, comedic and dramatic tackling important themes and questions with unflinching dedication and compassion. For all ages Only One Wing promises the audience a moving and exciting ride through imagination and its capabilities.
