See Lulu’s spectacularly decadent demise in a life-sized toy theatre as cads and show girls surround her with a live cabaret band, a roller skating countess, a wandering Weimar jazz singer and a polar bear. Lulu is filled with circus and silent film influences and an eclectic musical palette narrating the unfolding debauchery.
Featuring international star Marawa the Amazing (La Clique, Josephine Baker in Desir) and directed by Rachel Snider (The Fly with David Cronenberg), Lulu has an aesthetic so strong it has been featured in British Vogue and comes to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe following a sell-out run at the Hackney Empire in London.
Rififi Theatre creates bold, innovative pieces, moving beyond conventional theatre and fusing narrative drive with a fantastical focus on the theatrical and the magic of circus. With a style and appeal that extends past theatre alone, previous Rififi work has appeared in Italian Marie Claire and MUSE magazine.
Lulu seduces all who see her:
“We loved Lulu… a hilariously bizarre and surreal feast of a play… a performance like you’ve never seen before” – Vogue
“Very exciting” - Time Out
"Witty, playful and inventively pantomimesque production of Wedekind’s controversial and provocative play” - WhatsOnStage
