Everyone in this strange, absurd play talks and thinks only about sex. But while its characters are driven by the most basic of human emotions - loneliness, their yearning for love, their desire to escape their problems - they poignantly and hilariously never get past discussing, arguing about, and apostrophising their favourite subject. It is as complicated and tragic as it is bitingly amusing.
A comic and philosophical tour-de-force from Valentin Krasnogorov, a master of the Russian stage.
“It is a huge honour to be the first company to stage this production in the UK," said director Luke Adamson. "It is an beautifully written piece, one minute you're laughing out loud at the predicament of a character, the next you're seeing your own fears and insecurities being exposed on the stage. It connects to something within everyone and makes us think and re-evaluate our own existence, as well as giving us a bloody good laugh.
"It's like Anton Chekhov has teamed up with Kenneth Williams and Sid James."
