A quartet of diverse new works ranging from a muscular male solo to a malevolent duet. Infused with Collisions' "beautifully crafted" (The Stage) blend of the inventive physicality of contemporary dance, and classical ballet's discipline and grace.
Choreographed by Johnny Autin for Collisions' artistic director David Beer, solo ‘Soupirs’ reveals flashes of brooding male vexation.‘2’ is a poignant tale of sinister siblings created in collaboration with writer Hannah Patterson.
Beer's contemporary ballet piece ‘Inertia’ depicts a struggle against its namesake condition, while dance, speech and song meet soap opera in Marc Dodi's ensemble finale ‘Gloria’.
"Quids in with talent" Herald; "Quirky and contemplative... consistently high quality... Collisions displays much promise for a new company" (The List); **** Broadway Baby, 2008/9.
