Using the words of Shakespeare, our Hamlet takes place behind the closed doors of a child’s room. Thomas Marceul, totally alone on stage, plays a teenager confronted with the disintegration of his family and the departure of his father. With the appearance of a new man at home, the door of the boy’s room closes even more so that it never opens again and does not let the usurper in. The only sign of yet another world existing apart from this room is the voice of the mother, coming in from behind the door.
"Embodying in turn the various characters of the play, the actor performs a really subtle, nuanced and very poetic version. This is real Theatre, powerful and moving.” L’Echo Republicain
The teenager, besieged within the four walls of his room, acts out, with the use of dolls and other toys, the artifacts of his prematurely broken childhood, the story of a young man: Hamlet, deprived of his father and wanting to take revenge on “the third one”, and to punish his mother.
"A playful and poignant performance" Le Parisien
