Step into the world of Ancient Egyptian myth. Follow a boatman up the river Nile and meet a conflicted theatre troupe. They go about their daily chores by an oasis, arguing amongst themselves.
Dusk falls and they set on performing the story of Isis and Osiris. Under-rehearsed and inaccurate, their show stirs the Egyptian gods. Forgotten and spiteful, the gods rise up to tell their own story. They transport the actors to the ancient times where scorpions roam the earth and the realms of magic and reality merge. You will be introduced to Osiris, eventually dismembered into fourteen pieces, and his despairing wife Isis. In the midst of despair and darkness there exists a deeper chasm out of which demons of the Egyptian underworld appear.
A story told using physical theatre, where the performers and gods create the setting with their bodies. Assuming the shapes of the landscapes, they contort their bodies to create the mythical creatures of Ancient Egypt. Experience the wrath, desire and fear of the troupe and gods beneath the scorching sun. Get caught up in a confusion of myth and reality, in a world where time stands still..
