“Wow, you’re fabulous!” If we had a pound for every time we’ve heard that, we’d have come to Edinburgh long ago!
For the very first time the Cape Academy of Performing Arts is hitting the Edinburgh Festival Fringe stage all the way from South Africa. Performing professionally since 2003 to full houses at their own arts festival in Grahamstown, the company never fails to please, leaving their audience clamouring for more.
CAPA brings a wonderfully eclectic collage of dance in all its moods and forms, dramatic extracts and vibrant song running seamlessly from scene to scene, in an accessible, uplifting and feel-good production that will appeal to all ages.
Presenting two equally slick programmes featuring stunningly theatrical contemporary choreography in the magical “Dark Faeries”, and the mysterious “Flock”, majestic ballet and thrilling tap, to musical theatre songs and the hilarious writings of SA playwright Andrew Buckland in Feedback and The Ugly Noo Noo, this dynamic, versatile and supremely talented company “show off the brilliance that makes this academy so popular!” (Cue, Grahamstown, 2009).
A real treat for the eyes showcasing extraordinary young South African talent!
