Photo exhibition giving a sense of the excitement of the most important
exhibition of performance design and space in the world, which, in its
40th anniversary 2007 edition, transformed Prague into a genuine living
stage of world theatre.
Prague Quadrennial 2007 presented work of 550 theatre design artists in
stage, costume, lighting, sound, puppet design and theatre architecture.
Over 50 countries showed the most innovative and prestigious work from
the last four seasons in the framework of their individual expositions
installed in the beautiful art nouveau Industrial Palace building in Prague,
Czech Republic. Over 10,000 square meters of objects, photos, videos and
live performances of work in-between theatre and visual arts formed this
unique live exhibition in 2007.
In the photo exhibition you will be able to see work awarded by the main
Prague Quadrennial Prize for the best installation for the Russian exposition;
best costume design from Mexico or the work of award winning Boris Kudlicka;
as well as work in design and performance from the Student section - the
most experimental and daring work exhibited at the PQ, besides the photos
from Scenofest - project that has provided over 1,500 students with the
possibility to join major performance design workshops, lectures or presentations.
With over 500 live events over the course of eleven days last June, PQ
07 become more then an exhibition. Public spaces of the center of Prague
were filled with work in dance, performance art, interactive installations,
contemporary circus, fashion shows to provide the intensity of the diversity
of performance design in today's theatre and art - by choreographer Miguel
